Tests between CWB and RRI Radio Relay International with the participation of radio amateurs in Australia, the Pacific and North America were conducted on the weekend of December 10-11, 2016, to establish a weekly CW Traffic Circuit which can reliably pass formal messages half way around the world. This network can be activated at times of need on a more regular basis.
The tests were a success with both direct communications and reliable QTC passed between North America and Oceania as well as indirectly via Pacific relays. A number of routes were established to provide redundancy and resilience, and involving various established networks as well as new ones. Future participation of Pacific islands in this circuit is expected.
Further tests involving other modes, notably Pactor, are also underway. We thank all those who participated in these first tests.
